Amoebas Realm
Where mythologies, legends and stories takes shape through the art of Rye straw.
STATEMENT OF INTENT
My first impulse was to reawaken the ancestral art of straw marquetry—reviving it through a contemporary lens. Soon, the focus shifted: beyond the material itself, I became fascinated by the way light plays on straw, creating the illusion of movement within stillness.
As I reflected on how knowledge survives through time, I turned to myths and legends; stories that have crossed civilizations, carrying truths and inspiration from age to age.
From this dialogue emerged Amoebas Realm: a collection where fictional beings confront colossal creatures. These monsters (once invisible) become symbols of latent threats, embodied here as the Amoebas.
